    I write this because the petition is sponsored by a campaign manager for Kennedy. Please be very careful in signing such petitions.     You can volunteer in a role that is always undertaken by individuals who are volunteers, such as in a hospital setting. In reality if you are volunteering for a for profit they are really getting unpaid assistance which technically should be done by an employee.

    If you go serve dinners at a homeless mission or work as a hospital volunteer for example then you are just fine.

    I do have this information from a lawyer incidentally as this question arose in our family.

    Can anyone help with advice? Talk about frustration! I qualify for EB2 since I have a masters degree (and also more than 5 years of experience in my field). I could qualify for EB2 except that my job description "prefers" (rather than "requires") a masters degree. The language prevents my compay from filing EB2, yet my job responsibilities are such that they certaily warrant a masters degree. My compay doesn't want to change my position or wording even though they clearly know (through my explanations) that that means adding close to 5-6 years to the wait! They also fail to see that making me wait so long also affects them because the company cannot promote me or chage my responsibilities for the duration of the wait! Has anyone been through the same situation?

    They get a well qualified employee at a lower salary for a longer period of time. If they don't listen try to find an employer that could file u at EB-2.

    Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and register as a customer from the left panel. Once you register you can enter your receipt numbers and track your case. If there is a case status update they will send you an email.
    Yes, it is possible to file everything the same day.

    How to get LUD without RN. Please elaborate. Also, did you get e-mail through your attorney or directly from uscis. Looking at my I-485 only e-mail address given is by law firm.

    One possible issue with this assessment is that CIS Ombudsman released the report on June 11th and ISCIS published 'THE JULY 2007 BULLETIN' on June 12th. That may mean someone in USCIS decided ultra fast as to make all the dates current or they (USCIS top brass) knew about this report draft.

    I don't know if this report really caused USCIS to come out with that bulletin. there is something else under the hood which caused this reaction....http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/images/smilies/mad.gif

    Thanks again. What threw me was that even though the detail was blown there was lots of colour. It is not like when it gets blown to white by direct sunlight.

    The shot we are all talking about was originally in RAW, by the way.

    You need to give more information about what whether your wife was able to file I-485 for your wife. If you are from a retrogressed country, then your wife was probably not able to file to adjust status. In that case, she is can change from H4 to F1. After the approval, her status is not dependent on yours, and you can start using EAD.

    I filed my 485 in August and got married later and my wife is on H4 right now. I'm on H1 as of now. I'm not using my EAD right now, so that my wife can maintain her H4 status. I'm planning her F1 processing from H4, so that once she is on F1 officially, I want to use EAD to change employers.

    Is there any risk involved here and if so, please let me know

    -- as some else put it in another post .. this has not cured us of the retrogression ailment, this is just a pain killer.
    We should move ahead as planned. My support for IV core as usual.

    Thanks for your quick response. I might as well ask one more question that's in my mind. Did you go thru the company's attorney or you hired yourself? I really don't trust my company's attorney as they work for the best interest of the company rather then the employees...may not be the norm but mostly its that way.
    Could you PM me if you know good attorney's other then Ms Murthy (cause they are expensive)

    I used my personal Attorney from time of filing 485 - she worked with me through the AC21 process and till date represents me now also. It is very much advisable to have personal Attorney who represents you.

    Concerning is most students do not know or care of these issues. All they want is to graduate find a job. Jobs are plenty thanks to 'Desi Consultants'.

    The worst part many working pros who know of these issues hardly make an effort to work on a solution.

    Either stay mum or fight for..IV members are the latter

    I came to the USA on 3rd November, 2006 in company A. I did not work a single day in company A. I joined to company B on 17th January, 2007. I have no idea how my employer filed my H1B in company B without any paystub. I joined to company C on 24th July as they started my GC process right away. My H1B with company B and C are still pending. Company C has filed my labor on 31st August and got approval on 11th September. I am planning to file I-140, I-485, I-765 and I-131 together. So my questions are:

    1) Is there any possibility to get denied/RFE for my GC as my last two H1B are still pending ?

    2) What are the risks to be considered if I go back to my country and come back on AP as I don't have a visa stamp on my passport ? I am from a non-retrogressed country.

    3) I heard that it takes too much time to bring spouse here if I marry after GC approval. I am planning to go back and marry and come back but don't want to bring my future wife on H4. Will it help me later to avoid unnecessesary waiting time to bring her here once my GC is approved ?


    I shall be thankful to you to get my answer.

    Gary, I like all three but the first shot is my favorite.....DOF (on the first) is good, (the shrubs midway in the photo could be sharper) not great but quite acceptable and the polarizer makes the shot shine. Good work (on all three)

    Just noticed the first shot you had the AV at f/10.....I would have shut it down more.

    Please see my previous post. I am talking about the new system which does not have the EB1/2/3 classification. Please do not confuse it with the existing system. Also under the new system you have 6 points for employer recommendation and 10 points for experience. So 1st year employees may not get either an employer recommendation or any points for work experience.
    Yes I know, but aren't we concerned about the current people who are waiting than the future people who are going to come.

    I was talking about the current people who are panicking. If it does not make sense..ignore my post. :)

    To avoid being like the thread running a few days ago, I don't want to be responding to each response. However, I do want clear a few things:
    I am not promoting one parenting technique over the other.
    As I said, I agree with a few things and disagree with a few things the author talks about.

    Having kids myself, I cannot think of a parent who would do harm to their own child. Each set of parents come with their own parenting skills that works for them and their children. I leave it at that.

    I only posted this because my doc asked me of my opinion and I in turn asked the opinion of IV members. If this thread is going to turn ugly, lets stop it, that was not my intention.

    Funniest thread and indeed your reply was the funniest for today. I cant stop laughing..really.. you answered so seriously but yet hiding so much humor in it.. wonderful.
    Isn't there an online community for people from andhra? why chose IV for these prayer requests? Previously it was praying for SRK who apparently got raped at the POE and now for all dead people??
    Even the thread anouncing the members who got freedom this month is being drowned by these discussions. There is enough to celebrate this month...lot of our brothers / sisters have been greened...let us celebrate their freedom and forget our misseries for some time.

    Thank you for your inputs. I really appreciated for your help. We went to Detective office and he allowed my sister only to question. He asked couple of questions regarding that family and theft. My sister explained him that she don't know about that situation. It took about 20 minutes time there. We have below questions still remains in our mind.

    1) Do we really required a Lawyer to protect?
    2) I believe they should have proper information to arrest or accuse right?
    3) We know my sister is innocent but feeling insecure for being happend. so what are all the chances to again question my sister?.

    After viewing your messages here, we realized it is wrong to go to Detective office but we went this morning

    In India 3 year grad are arts, humanities, science, management and accounting.
    while 4+ year degrees are for technology, engineering, agriculture, medicine.

    UK (some parts of europe as well) and Australia seems to have similar system in some of its university.

    even some US universities have rightly adopted the same

    The point is the content is more important than the duration.

    I personally think 3year UG unlikely reason for reopening I140 after GC is approved. I would be shocked if that is the case.

    I am afraid this could be a paper chase. Asking more docs to creating headache for the applicant.

    The issue not the three year degree But It is 16 year education or 15 year education to attain the degree. In UK it still takes 16 years education to attain the Bachelors.

    I think sertasheep put it right. For Indian MBBS, US trained docs the best options outside US are the middle east, Dubai in particular, and India. In India Appolo and Escorts hire foreign trained docs but remember India also does not recognize US PG degree so they cannot work in Govt hospitals but they can always open their own shop just on the basis of MBBS and boldly put US degree on the big board. India is truly the land of the free in this respect. You cannot even imagine doing this in US or any other developed country.

    But do not write off Canada just yet because there are still some jobs there for physicians and it's not as if US trained docs are not allowed at all. Canada is worth giving a shot but Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. are all closed and dead options for a variety of reasons ranging from licensing process, immigration process, very few training positions, very scarce medical jobs, racism, discrimination etc. Middle East has it's own issues specially if you are not a Muslim although Dubai is quite modern and welcoming but kids will be influenced and politics there is also quite nauseating. That just leaves you with India and you already know the ins and outs of it.
