If we see the history H1B and GC numbers were never increased except 2004 20k inpast 15 years In 2000 it was increasd temporarlily for 4 years.Also EB numbers were never increased except temporary reliefs.If it is increased by Skill bill in current form that is really an acheivement. If there is a possiblity they may increase H1B because that is temorary visa(But in reallity not) and GC numbers may remain same. But if increased to 115k then also cap will be reached in another 1 month because there are more number of Desi companies than number of H1Bs. Thats why they are asking exemptions for MS people and 20% adjustment for every year. We have to wait and see whether congress fall on this trap to do this without analysing the impact.

You are wrong. There have been lot of changes. Two year EAD for one. And how about EB2 category moving to mid 2006 so most of the EB2 people before that have got GC or will surely get it next year. The only thing that hasn;'t changed is EB3 India. It was stuck in 2001 at that time and still is in 2001. It will crawl to 2002 in the coming year but that's that.

IV is not biased against any EB category. Their goal is to have process so that everyone gets GC in one year from date of application. These categories are set by USCIS. IV is currently in process of detailing solutions to end this misery of all EB category. More details can only be find in your respective state chapters. We cannot disclose details on the public forum. I will urge you to join your state chapter so that you are aware of what all IV is trying to do. IV is not trying to make system work for EB2 or EB1 but for everyone. There are lot of solutions, but we need to lobby and for that we need volunteer. Remember IV is not a corporate who has people working on its payroll and getting revenue. All of us need to contribute and volunteer. Trust me the day all of us (at least number of people blogging currently) join their state chapter and volunteer couple of hours in a month, you will not need lobby. The public voice be enough to convince Hill and House to pass a legislation.

Quite right, I know you meant that managing relationships has to be from both the sides, but with most desi employers it has become a one way street. Even with all the effort to manage relationship, the employee still gets scr*** and this needs to stop.

Thanks for your advice. The intent of the letter is to show a different perspective to Senator Sessions. Nothing more or nothig less. He said he did not receive any feedback from legal immigrants. Fine, we say here it comes. If he continues to block legal immigration reform bills, he has to find another pretext, not "no feedback from immigrants".
There is always a rational side in every human being. Senator Sessions is smart. Let us hope Senator Sessions surprises us by bringing his own version of EB immigration reform.

I never believed the polls either. Go ahead and research how many pro CIR candidates have experienced decrease in popularity so far, how many cities have initiated ordinances against illegal immigration, how many $ was invested in lobbying senators without much success, how many anti CIR/amnesty calls outnumbered the pro CIR calls. If you do that, you may be shocked.

Retrogressed all the way to 2000? Happened at the end of Q3 in the government calendar. Seem to me USCIS is laying the ground to assign all un-used visa number to indians in Q4. Just a guess....

Your Comment on H2B is only right about H2B and doesn't apply on EB green cards. We are people who came on H1B & our Green Cards were sponsored by US employers, we have our Labor & I-140 approved and we are waiting for Visa number assigned to our applications. So you could be comparing apples to peaches...Immigration policies had been hostile in past 12 years and will continue to be same indefinitely...Now our choice is sit back, lie low, keep watching & read Visa predictions indefinitely- may be another decade or 2- or take some steps, which I think, are not going to face much opposition. Also regarding reason behind so many Indians is, that 200K H1B between 1999 and 2002. Even if visa cap is lifted for 2 years that big hump will be crossed, it may smoothen the Visa allocations for Indians.
Some people are floating in Utopia.
Most of us are here on on the ground.
Keep watching the forums and see how many denials have been posted and we are just at the beginning stages... There are many more denials; revocations; dol audits, arrests coming.
While all this is going on; you can continue to push the envelope and try to increase EB greencards, get rid of country quota and loosen up everything.

make a deeper spiritual connection with God.
let him lift some of your burden.
i listened to Hari Om Sharan after many years and experienced a real sense of joy.
7. spend time learning about US government.
get to know more about how government works. why does house vote differently than the senate ?
get to know the 100 senators and 435 house reps. especially how they stand on legal immigration.

record the feelings you are going through in writing.
capture the details.
what was your journey, your expectations, your highs and lows ?
you may see your struggles in a different light 10 years from now.

Hmm, urs is a unique case, but as far as i can tell u need to have FP done, that is the process, your lawyers may be able to help, have u contacted them?
Paper filing is fine and its not slow, usually paper filers dont get FP notices.
I did contact my lawyer. They have put in a SR but that's not helping. I was hoping the EAD renewal will kick it but looks like paper based doesn't kick it..
Argh!! This waiting game seems helpless..
